Essential Oils

We have just recieved our shipment of essential oils in time for fall feeding.

Promote healthy bees by fall feeding using this home recipe of Honey-B-Healthy mixed with your sugar water.

Honey B Healthy Recipe

5 cups Water

2 1/2 pounds Sugar

1/8 tsp. Lecithin Granules (used as an emulsifier)

15 drops Spearmint Oil

15 drops Lemongrass Oil

1. Bring the water to a boil and integrate the sugar until dissolved.

2. Once the sugar is dissolved remove the mixture from the heat and quickly add the lecithin and the essential oils.

3. Stir until everything is evenly distributed. This solution should have a strong scent and not be left open around bees. Cool before using.

Makes 2 quarts.  (Refridgerating will make product last longer)

Honey B Healthy is a feeding stimulant with essential oils. Use this product as a feeding stimulant or drench during early spring, fall, or dearths of nectar. It helps when used as a spray in sugar water instead of smoke to calm bees and to combine weak colonies. Also, spraying on new palstic foundation helps encourage acceptance.

Directions: Mix or shake well before using. Keep from freezing. Feed with honey supers removed.

Recommended Feeding: Mix 1tsp (5mL) Honey B Healthy per quart sugar syrup which can be increased to 2tsp (10mL) per quart for maximum efficiancy. For a drench, spray to calm bees or entice bees to work plastic foundation: mix 4tsp (20mL) Honey B Healthy in a quart of 1:1 sugar water mix. For drenching, apply 8oz (more or less depending on the size of the colony) 3-4 times, 3-4 days apart to the brood area by spraying or drizzling the mix on the bees and between the brood frames. Mixes well in various sugar water mixes.

Contains: Sucrose, Water, Spearmint Oil, Lemongrass Oil, and Lecithin.

1 pint treats 96 colonies

1 gallon treats 768 colonies
